This is Samorost 3, the latest, and arguably greatest, game to come out of Czech indie studio Amanita Design, the home of cult-hit adventures Botanicula, Machinarium, and of course the first two Samorost games. Relative to the inventiveness of the world and immersiveness of the music, the gameplay is surprisingly routine. The soundtrack employs a huge variety of unusual instruments, which cultivates an atmosphere that is at once alien and inviting. Ultimately, the game conveys a wonderful sense of adventure and exploration.
